The M13KO7 Helper Phage is an essential component in phage display experiments.

The M13KO7 Helper Phage is used alongside a phagemid (a plasmid containing the phage origin of replication) in phage display experiments.
When a phagemid with a wild-type M13 or f1 origin is present, the M13KO7 Helper Phage selectively packages and secretes single-stranded phagemid DNA into the culture medium.
This process allows easy production of single-stranded phagemid DNA for subsequent display of antibody fragment, such as scFv, Fab and VHH, and peptides or affibody on the phage surface.

M13KO7 Phage supernatant is isolated from infected E. coli TG1 by a standard procedure.
