DNA Aptamer against Hepatitis C virus (HCV) Envelope Surface Glycoprotein E2
Background
The Hepatitis C virus (HCV) envelope surface glycoprotein E2 is a transmembrane protein that plays a key role in the entry of the virus into host cells. E2 is a heavily glycosylated protein with a hydrophobic C-terminal anchor and a highly glycosylated N-terminal ectodomain. The E2 core has a compact architecture, with a central Ig-fold β-sandwich flanked by two additional protein layers.
