DNA Aptamer against Prostate-Specific Antigen
Background
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by normal, as well as malignant, cells of the prostate gland. PSA can be found in the blood. A PSA test measures the amount of PSA in the blood to help detect prostate cancer. While higher PSA levels indicate a higher chance of prostate cancer, there is no set cutoff point that can definitively diagnose prostate cancer.
